Resistance and Pathways Forward for Peace Education:

On May 25, George Floyd was murdered by a police officer (with the complicity of three additional officers in real time) in Minneapolis. This murder triggered protests that were organized rapidly, and spread into large events with hundreds of thousands of participants, across the US—and the world. This is to say, we are in a challenging, inviting, and in some ways, exciting moment. A particular moment, that may turn out to be, world-historical in its importance. Peace educators and peacebuilders ask one another, What can we do, and what must we do, in such a moment? It follows that EGP responds to this moment in a way that draws on our capacity to be of value at this time.
